dc.description.abstract | The present system of energy billing is error prone and also time and labor consuming. Errors get introduced at every stage of energy billing like errors with electro-mechanical meters, human errors while noting down the meter reading, and errors while processing the paid bills and the due bills. The home appliances which consume more power causes an increase in the payment of excessive bills. The development of a fully Automated Energy Meter which is having capabilities like remote monitoring and controlling of energy meter will lead to transparency in the energy meter reading and billing system. Automatic Meter Reading (AMR) system give the information of meter reading, power cut, total load used, power disconnect and tempering on request or regularly in particular interval through SMS. This information is being sent and received by customer with the help of Global System for Mobile (GSM) communication network. | en_US |
