Abstract: With the increase of the environmental awareness of people and the cost for petroleum based Asphalt as the binder of asphalt concrete, use of RAP has been the common construction practice for several decades in some countries. Since it gives the better performance over other material. To stimulate the reasonable use of RAP, it is necessary to research the ageing behavior asphalt under high temperature and oxidative condition. RAP is the term that has been given to removed or reprocessed pavement materials that contain asphalt and aggregates. The study shows the physical characteristics of bitumen grade VG30 when mixed with RAP in various proportion i.e (10% , 20% , 30% , 40% , 50%) and the effects of these percentage on the physical characteristics like ( Penetration, Softening point, Ductility and Specific gravity) Study also shows the recycling of RAP material and to minimize the problem of waste disposal into landfill up to some extent. For the present study, the RAP was collected from Mumbai International Taxiway. The age of RAP is 8 years. The various test such as Crushing test, Impact test, Los Angeles Abrasion test and Shape test on crushed and virgin aggregates were also carried out. The summarizing results of RAP in various proportions with virgin bitumen and crushed aggregates are discussed.
