Abstract: TRZ (trazodone hydrochloride) is a well-known antidepressant that belongs to the competitive serotonin reuptake inhibitors class of drugs (SARI). This drug is recommended for the treatment of depression. It may help to enhance your demeanor, appetite, and energy level, and also reduce depression-related anxiety and sleeplessness. Trazodone comes as 25 mg, 50 mg, 100 mg, 150 mg, & 300 mg tabs for oral use. There is also a 150 mg & 300 mg extended release version available as tablets. According to the extant literature studies, multiple analytical methods for estimating trazodone hydrochloride alone and in combination with other antidepressants are available. For estimating trazodone hydrochloride, many analytical methods such as RP-HPLC, UV, and Spectrophotometric methods are available. There is a need to establish an assay technique for estimating trazodone dosage form since the existing literature report does not include any methodical assay method for component quantification that reflects the accurate purity feature of sample to produce average accurate findings.
