You must have Adobe Acrobat Reader installed to view these files. You can install the Acrobat Reader by double-clicking on the setup.exe file and choosing Acrobat when prompted. Machine Design Example ------------------------ Sample 7-4 in the book has been implemented as a HiQ Notebook that you can interact with. This sample investigates the torsional impact of a grinder shaft when the grinder wheel is stopped suddenly. You can change the dimensions of the problem on page 3 of the Notebook to see how the shaft stress and deflection are affected for changing shaft radius and rpm.
