Abstract:
The thesis research topic is an attempt to understand and discuss about the awareness of sustainable architectural construction with bamboo as the primary construction material.
It attempts to reinforce the idea of use of bamboo as a primary material in architectural construction.
It is also an attempt to make larger part of society aware about various types, uses and advantages of bamboo construction..

The project consist of learning, workshop, experimentation yard and exhibition center which is constructed with bamboo. The aim is to educate people about bamboo characteristics, precautions, processing(post harvesting method, treatment method etc.), advantages over other material and also the wide variety experimentation, techniques, demonstration and possibilities of bamboo application in contemporary Architecture. The suitable design space is necessary to promote this sustainable material in the context of India, as bamboo is largely available material and rarely use in the country for construction in big scale.
The research deals with about providing opportunities and income generation through making relevant industrial and craft technologies. The institutional resources center help to upgrading the skills of trainers, Artisans and leading craft people to achieve the widest dissemination of the technologies and skills needed for maintaining this specialized institution.
To achieve all this, the identified center will be well equipped with all the resources like technology, tools, advance machine, equipments for demonstrating purposes, training facilities, residing facility etc.
