dc.description.abstract The objective of this paper is to compare the cutting parameters in turning of Titanium Alloy (Ti-6Al-4V) on CNC lathe by finding the longest tool life using Taguchi method and regression equation. The Taguchi method is used to find out the optimal cutting parameters for larger tool life. The selected impactful factors for analysis are depth of cut, feed rate, cutting speed among the all other factors related to machining process. Orthogonal array of Taguchi, signal-to-noise(S/N) ratio and analysis of variance (ANOVA) were employed to find the optimal process parameters and their effect on tool life. Refrigerated air is used as a coolant during machining process. Tool life prediction has great influence on productivity in industrial activities. The main factors that affect tool life can be divided into three categories: the machining tool, machining parameters and the work piece material. The parameters with a higher effect on tool life contain the cutting speed, feed rate, depth of cut and cutting fluid. en_US
