dc.description.abstract Transformer are static devices totally enclosed and generally oil immersed. Therefore, chances of fault occurring on them are very rare. However the consequences of even a rare fault may be very serious unless the transformer is quickly disconnected from the System. This necessitates providing adequate automatic protection for transformer again possible faults. This thesis explores the automatic protection which is needed for transformer. This protection is mainly provided through panels. A panel is used for controlling and giving the indication about the faults in transformer. It also disconnect the transformer from supply of there is a fault. Different panels are used for different location, scheme of protection, according to consumer demand etc. In which some of the panels are RTCC, MBox, TJB, etc. An RTCC is basically for raising and lowering transformer voltage from DM Box which is connected to OLTC. en_US
