dc.description.abstract The use of soil stabilization is ever increasing due to technical, economic and environmental benefits. Soil stabilization methods are commonly used in highway projects where high strength of sub-soil is required. In physical and chemical stabilization, an optimum amount of cement, lime or any chemical is mixed with the soil to improve its quality. A practical and generally accepted approach is used to determine the optimum amount of additive to be added to the soil to get the maximum efficiency. In this work, an attempt has been made to carry out an experimental work, based on various results with different amount of additives ranging from 4%, 8% and 12%. The additives used are cement, lime and Potassium Hydroxide (KOH). Different properties of soil are determined for the campus soil. The important soil parameters are determined by incorporating different percentages of cement, (cement + lime) and (cement + lime +KOH). The results obtained can be utilized as a guide, as to what percentage and combination of additives is to be added in the soil when a particular soil property needs to be enhanced. en_US
