dc.description.abstract Petrochemical based plastics are already recognized for its practice in entirely packaging industries, but petrochemical plastics produces harmful environmental issues, as its very challenging for its degradation in the environment. To minimize the detrimental effects on nature, petrochemical plastic must be replaced by bioplastic. Bioplastic is obtained from many sources such as starch-based Bioplastic, Cellulose based Bioplastic, Protein-based Bioplastic, and Aliphatic polyesters bioplastics. The making of biodegradable plastics with edible polysaccharides is economic and safe and it will definitely assist in the reduction of environmental disasters. Bioplastic can be the best substitute for conventional plastic in the diverse segments such as food packing plastic dishes of cutlery plastic, packing bags, storing flask etc. Currently biobased polymers are usually found in numerous utilization from commodity to hi-tech applications due to development in biotechnology and public awareness. The present study offers a biodegradable plastic made from tamarind seed powder. The product of the current plan has extensive industrial practices e.g. in manufacture of biodegradable art objects/household items, carry bags, wrapping/packing material etc. and also biomedical arena e.g. dressings, sutures. en_US
